Thelonious Goerz

Overview

Thelonious Goerz is a second-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Sociology and the Brooks School of Public Policy at Cornell university. He is an affiliate of the Cornell Population Center, Cornell Center for Social Sciences, and the Cornell Center for the Study of Inequality. His work uses demographic methods and perspectives and quantitative methods to study social stratification in urban contexts. In one line of research, he analyzes how racial segregation affects population processes.  Another line of research examines how residential and racial diversity shape health outcomes.

Previously, Thelonious was a pre-doctoral research fellow in sociology and economics at Johns Hopkins University and graduated from the University of Washington, Seattle with a B.A. in sociology in 2021.
