Overview
Liza is a PhD student in Sociology at Cornell University. She is broadly interested in gender, sexuality, and health. More specifically, she is interested in the intersections between medical expertise, diagnoses, gender and sexuality, and popular media. One of her emerging projects is a study of hormone replacement therapy for menopause-related conditions, and how medical expertise and norms around gender and sexuality influence treatment recommendations. She is also working on a content analysis of the contemporary “boy crisis.”
Before arriving at Cornell, she received a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Women's, Gender, & Sexuality Studies from Dartmouth College, where she studied "hookup culture” on campus.
