Prof. Jeffrey Sachs, economics, and director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University, presented his live online lecture "A New Foreign Policy: Beyond American Exceptionalism" as part fall lecture series entitled “The American State in a Multipolar World”
The lecture series was organized by the Center for the Study of Economy and Society, presented by his director sociology Professor Victor Nee.
In regards of multilateral cooperation and the importance to avoid conflict with other countries specifically China Sachs said “It really wouldn’t hurt the two leaders of the two most powerful countries in the world to chat a little bit more than once a year perhaps,”
Sachs pointed out the importance of multilateral cooperation and a more effective United Nations system.
