Sociology of education

The sociology of education is an important topic for understanding individuals’ outcomes with respect to things like occupation and labor market status. This area seeks to ensure that students understand both theories associated with educational success from a sociological standpoint (e.g., the idea that social inequality leads to inequalities in education) and the various methods that have emerged to understand differences in educational outcomes. (For example, some scholars study education using experimental designs, while others use regression analysis.) Students who take this area will understand these as well as other methods.
